how yummy this ice cream was!
it was a hot day so my daughter and I decided to make a cold treat for ourselves.
Though it was sweetened only with dried fruits and a dash of agave nectar, this soft set icecream gives you the creamiest, and the most heavenly ice cream!
not only that it has a good amount of omega3 in it as well.
I can't wait for another hot day...... (so I have an excuse to make more of this)

thoughts on soy products

I have been asked by a few different people what I think about soy products. soya bean is considered to have one of the highest amino acid profiles. The estrogens are said to prevent cancer, lower cholestrol, relieves menopausal symptoms. However there are many people concern that soy products have negative impact on the body.
Personally I could not live without soy products! Tofu, Tempeh, miso, soy sauce, natto..... they appear so frequently in my dishes. I believe too much of anything is not good and also less refined the better. I hardly drink soy milk as a substitute to dairy milk. ( though I still use soy milk in cooking or baking etc.) fermentation is important too. And make sure the soy products you consume are organic and not genetically modified.

kurogoma cookie

these are so- good- for -you cookies! made with black sesame paste, buckwheat flour, whole soy bean flour and hazel and brazil nut chunks, sweetened with rice syrup.
they look a bit evil (?) but they taste great. the paste really make these cookies light but satisfying. Black sesame has been associated with the Kidney and Liver meridians and they are an extremely good source of calcium.
How good to be able to say to my daughter 'Yes, you can have a couple more.'
